It always seems to happen this way. First, there’s “the one,” who you know is the one because of all the torment and the drama and the strum and drang of it all. They must be the one because they mean so much to you, and you think about them all the time, and you just hate them sometimes. It’s not easy with the one. Nothing is. Exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping, heart-breaking, exhausting, but never easy. But you can’t let go. Eventually, it ends. And even that is violent and loud and dangerous and you feel both liberated and empty.
They are not the one.
The One is easy. The One makes you feel good. The One doesn't thrive on the drama and doesn't encourage your own bad behavior. The One is steady and stable. The One is joyous and sweet and holds no hate or contempt. The One lets you get to bed before three in the morning. The One goes down soft in four games.
The One takes its damn time coming, and somedays you feel like it never will. But there is some One for everyone, and St. Louis, you're the One.
Yankees, I don't know what we ever saw in you.
Here I was, thinking profound thoughts about how wonderful Mike is, how I don't know how I ever thought that my Insignificant Other was the one ... and then I hit the end. I am too amused!

Let me get this straight. It is bigotry to disapprove of behavior that one's religion states is not only inappropriate, but most (97%) of society also disapproves of. Well, you have a few bricks missing from
your foundation. Only a few years ago, society tolerated homosexuality, but now 'societal experts' want
us to APPROVE of it, rather than tolerate it. And if we don't, then we are bigots. Never mind that even liberal Oregon (which supported Kerry as well) rejected a vote for approval of samesex marriages. Here's a little information for you. This is a representative republic. The majority rules, and that does not make them bigots, it makes them right. And that is true regardless of whether or not you agree with it. Eleven of eleven states that voted on it rejected the move for these unions. That is not insignificant, and it is too bad you cannot manage to see this.

Even though it was a baseball analogy... it's just as much a love story. Good call.
